Hello! My name is Gina Jarvi and I am the daytime technology teacher here at Northside. This is my fourth year here. I am excited to teach all of you to use the new tools and technologies that are now at Northside.
A little about me:
I was born in the United States in 1956 in a place called Rockford, Illinois. It is about 5.5 hours from Minneapolis, MN. It is just over the border from Wisconsin.

In January of 1957, my mother and father moved back to New York City where I grew up until I went to college in August of 1974. I have one brother who is four and a half years younger.
I loved growing up in New York, though it was a lot different then than it is now. Many of the family-owned businesses in my neighborhood are gone. It is very expensive to live there.
I moved to Saint Paul in 1988. I just celebrated my 20th year here. This is the longest I've ever lived in one place. Before I moved to Saint Paul, I lived in Los Angeles, CA for 9 years. California has some very beautiful places, but I didn't like Los Angeles!
I have one son named Matthew. He is 17 years old and a senior at Central High School in St. Paul.
By the way, that's my dog Asia, a Siberian Husky. She is 8 years old, but she is still very much a puppy. She loves the snow!
10/28/08 Anne Ellen's class interviewed me about my pets. It was a fun class. Dhuuh asked me to show pictures of my cats, so here they are:

Hi Gina,
Thanks for starting this wiki for us and for the introduction about how to use it. I think it will be a fun way to stay in touch as a community this year. I'm looking forward to lots of action in the lab this year as we learn how to use all of the new technology!

Thank you Gina you introduce me to know about your dog. Your dog is clever she can know something like the person who I never knew before I think that the dog can help something when we teach them as Asia.

Hello Gina I learn a lot about you dog! So I like your dog very much when I saw a picture on the computer Lab. So I thank she is a night dog and very happy dogs too. she is looks like very clean dog with the snow too. So my son loves dogs too, but I am a little bit scared of them. So right now I do not have a dog.

You are right, I did not explain the cost of having pets. I spend about $50 a month on food for my three pets. It is quite a lot. It might be a bit less now that my two cats do not eat as much as when they were younger.

Hello MaiSao. I understand how you might be a little afraid of dogs. Perhaps you would like to try caring for a small dog one day. It is a good way to teach children how to care for another life when they are young. What do you think of my two cats?
