Anybody who's ever been in my office knows about the love I have for my dog. Ikey's the greatest guy in the world! There's a funny story about the way we met though...
I used to have 2 Chinese Shar-Pei dogs, those are the wrinkley ones. I have pictures of the girls in my office too. Sunny died very young, 7 years old. Inky, who came on a plane from Louisiana when she was only 7 weeks olds lasted a lot longer! She was so laid back and people used to call her "wiggle-butt," because she was so friendly. She died at the age of 10 from kidney failure, but not after I tried everything for a good 3 months! My vet came to my house so Inky could go at home! How's that for a caring vet?
After about 6 weeks, I became very lonely without a dog and started checking out Petfinder.com. I wanted an older dog so I didn't have to housebreak a puppy. I kept putting in MN and shar-pei in it's search engine, well, low and behold, this pit-bull/shar-pei mix was the first hit every time!!! He had the stupidest looking picture with this silly grin! I think he was the first hit for at least 25 times! Finally I called the rescue organization that had him and asked if his personality was like his smile. We met and the rest is history- We adopted each other!
And, that is how I met my man on the Internet! Now you know that there's more to me than just giving TABE tests!!!

Cindy,
Great job! You get an A+. He's a CUTIE!
Do me a favor, and leave a comment on the front page for people to see, and on my page. Also, think about ways you might communicate with students about TABE testing, orientation, etc... How could you use this wiki to help you communicate with all of us?

Hi, Cindy,
Oh, you fellow animal lover! What a sweet puppy story. Now, what about the orca, Flash, whom you adopted?

Gretchen,
Here you go, Flash and his birth certificate!!!
This is Flash, the Orca I "adopted." He was just recently spotted in January! He lives in the NW part of the United States and the SW parts of Canada. Can you find that on a map?

The Moose, who I named Mortimer, I also "adopted." Isn't he cute? My friend in Maine and I collect moose things. I have a lot of the moose "hug-a-bous" from Caribou coffee shops. All states have an animal as their logo to represent them. For Maine, it's the Moose, which is what started my friends and I collections. Do you know what animal represents MN?

Hey Cindy, I see that you added a couple of items. I had to shrink them so we could see them. Always best to add images using Firefox. If you click on the image you'll see the formatting squares around the frame of the image. You can click and drag these to get a better size. Nice moose, and congrats on your adoption of Flash.
